The quarter final of the 2021 Co-op Superstores County Junior B Hurling Championship between Randal's and Lough Rovers was played in Newcestown on Saturday evening last the 18th Sept.


A great game and a great win for Randal's, who are now into a county semi-final.


The foundations for the victory were laid in the first half of the game, having a good lead at half time.


Lough Rovers came back well in the third quarter and cut the lead to a single point but Randal's rallied again in the closing stages and were well in control in the final minutes.


Seadhna Crowley opened the scoring with a point in the third minute.


Sean Daly added another a minute later. A point from a free in the 7th minute opened Lough Rovers account.


Cathal Duggan, Peter Collins and Donnacha Collins stretched Randal's lead. 


Then in the fifteenth minute Donnacha Collins gaining possession from a well taken line ball by Sean Daly found the net and it was 1-05 to 0-01 at the first water break.


Lough Rovers scored their first goal shortly after resumption but this was cancelled out by Seadhna Crowley a minute later with another Randal goal. 


He then added a point to make it 2-06 to 1-01.


A second goal for Lough Rovers came around the 20th minute mark but points from Cathal Duggan, Seamus Crowley, Patrick Crowley and Peter Collins kept the board ticking over. 


Lough Rovers got a point in between and it make it 2-10 to 2-02 at the half time whistle.


Lough Rovers started the second half with three points in succession.


Peter Collins from a free and Patrick Crowley got points.


It was 2-12 to 2-06 at the second water break.


A third Lough Rovers goal and two points made it 2-12 to 3-08.


A point by Patrick Crowley, a well taken free from Sean Daly, a point from Eoin O'Donovan and Randal's were getting there footing again.


A second free by Sean Daly, and points from Donnacha Collins and Seadhna Crowley along with two points from Lough Rovers left it 2-19 to 3-10 at full time.
