Randal's and Kilmacabea met at Ballinacarriga on Monday, 7th June in the opening game of the junior football league group 2A.

An entertaining game ensued, the first in six months due to the close down of activities due to covid.

There was an average of a score every two minutes.

Seadhna Crowley was first to get on the scoring list with a point in the sixth minute.

Peter Collins got a second, a minute later before Kilmacabea opened their account with another on the nine minute mark.

Seadhna Crowley again and Conor O'Neill from a free gave Randal's a 0-04 to 0-02 lead before the first water break.

The scoring rate stepped somewhat in the second quarter.

Sam Kingston and Sean Daly exchanged points with Kilmacabea and it was level at 0-06 a piece coming up to half time.

Two more points from Conor O'Neill and it was 0-08 to 0-06 at the break.

It was score for score for most of the second half with a few penalties thrown in as Randal's built up an increasing lead.

Padraig O'Sullivan got the first score of the half, a point in the thirty second minute.

Conor O'Neill was on target from a penalty and added a point from a free.

Cathal Duggan with one point and Sean Daly with two more made it 1-13 to 0-06.

Kilmacabea came back with four points in succession and forced a penalty but Ciaran Murray brought off a brilliant save.

They got a goal a few minutes later but Randal's finished off with points from Cathal Duggan, Johnny Collins and Martin Murphy.

It was Randal Og's 1-18 Kilmacabea 1-10 at the full time whistle.
