In the first round of county junior B football championship, Randal Og and Shanballymore met at Grenagh on Saturday evening last, 3rd October,
It was a cool dry evening, but there was a strong breeze. Randals were playing against the wind,in the f[rst half and this had an adverse effect as they registered no score. Shanballymore were ahead by 1-5 to 0-0 qt halftime.
There was a second half resurgence although Shanballymore were first to score again with an early point from a free .
Eoin O'Sullivan got Randal's first score, a point, around the thirty third minute. Barry O'Driscoll got another some minutes late, but a second Shanballymore goal came in the forty first minute and it was 2-6 to 0-2 going into the final quarter.
There was a hectic finish to the game.
Donncha Collins and Eoin O'Sullivan got two points in quick succession. Stephen Crowley lashed a ground ball to the net and a penalty put away neatly by Peter Collins reduced the lead further.
However time ran out and it was: Shanballymore 2-6 Randal Og 2-4 at the final whistle ;
