Randals had their third football league outing, away to Clonakiilty, on Tuesday evening, 21st July, a cool bright evening and held the lead for most of the hour, but C;on got decisive scores late in the game to achieve a narrow victory.
Points from Cathal Duggan, Eoin O'Sullivan, Barry o'Driscoll and Conor O'Neill, from a free, with Clpn getting one in between, put Randals 0-4 to 0-1 ahead at the end of the first quarter.
Clon came more into the. A brilliant interception by Shane Patterson deprived them of a goal, but they were back for three points in succession.

It was a hard fought second half. Clon got a point from a free after five minutes. Conor O'Neill fisted over one minutes later and Shane Patterson was in for two more in quick succession. Two points from Clonakilty and another from Eoin O'Sullivan and it was 0-10 to 0-7 at the end of the third quarter.
Cathal Duggan got a point in the closing minutes and then he got through for the first goal of the game - 1-11 to 0-9.
However it was Clon who finished the stronger, scoring four points and then a crucial goal in stoppage time
