Football league - Randals v Kilmacabea - 2019-05-12 21:09:00

After the excitement of championship fare over the last few weeks, it was back to basics on Friday evening with a home game against Kilmacabea in the football league.

Kilmacabea, who are at the top of the league table, were probably the more experienced side but Randals were well in contention for most of the hour and there was little enough between them at the end.

Barry O'Driscoll got the first score, a point in the second minute. Kilmacabea went into the lead with two points. The only goal of the game came after about eight minutes, finished off by Conor O'Neill after some confusion in the Kilmacabea goalmouth.

Seamus Crowley added on a point, minutes later, and it was level - 1-2 to 0-5 at the end of the opening quarter.

Kilmacabea regained the lead to go three ahead but Seadhna Crowley also got three points, during the second quarter, two from frees.

It was 0-10 to 1-5 at half time.

Scores were scarce in the second half. Kilmacabea increased their lead again early on, but points from Shane Patterson and Cathal Duggan pulled them back. Seadhna Crowley scored again but Kilmacabea added on a few late points.

It was : Kilmacabea  0-15  Randal Og  1-8 at full time.
