The Randals' under twenty one footballers made their exit from the championship, in the semi-final against Tadhg Mac Carthaigh, played at Drimoleague on Saturday evening last, May 5th.
Played in ideal conditions, this was a game of high scoring, most of it in the first half, which saw Tadhg Mac Carthaigh build up a commanding lead. A brilliant double save, by Ciaran Murray, deprived them of a goal in the opening minute but they scored two goals and seven points in the first quarter. Two points from frees, by Eoin O'Sullivan, and a goal by Martin Murphy, coming up to the thirty minute mark, and it was 3-10 to 1-2 at half time.
It was score for score in the second half, with Randals giving as good as they got, including two Conor O'Neill goals, but the gap was not closed . At full time it was Tadhg Mac Carthaigh 5-15 Randal Og 4-5.
