The hurlers had their first league outing, away to Kilbrittain, on Saturday evening last. Played on their new pitch, conditions were ideal as the rain again stayed away,
Kilbrittain were first to score, a point in the opening minute, quickly replied to by Seadhna Crowley.
However, over the next minutes they built up a 0-5 to 0-1 lead. Seadhna Crowley pointed again in the twelfth minute and Eoin O'Donovan was on target for another early in the second quarter.
The first goal of the game came from Johnny Collins with about twenty two minutes gone, but Kilbrittain quickly replied with another goal a minute later and stretched their lead with two more points.
Donncha Collins sent a high ball goalwards. It finished in the net, twenty minutes were gone.
Shane Patterson sent over a point close to half time.
It was 1-10 to 2-5 at the break.
Kilbrittain again opened the scoring in the second half . Randals had a period of dominance over the next ten minutes, but the scoring chances created didn't come off and Kilbrittain came back to get through for their second goal.
They added two points and their third goal and were 3-14 to 2-5 ahead with about ten minutes to go.
There was a spate of scores in the closing stages. Conor O'Donovan got the sixth goal of the game in the twenty second minute. Kilbrittain replied with a point from a free, followed by a goal and another point. Seadhna Crowley sent over a point from a free, Conor O'Donovan scored his second goal and an exchange of points, with Seadhna Crowley scoring for Randals made it: Kilbrittain 4-17 Randal Og 4-8 at full time.
