A disappointing result in the match against Grange at Brinny on Saturday evening saw us make exit from the county junior football championship. Lack of competitive games going into this one did not help and Grange were quicker off the mark with early scores, which were to prove crucial. They were two points up after three minutes. Gearoid White pointed in the sixth minute but Grange were back for two more and it was 0-4 to 0-1 after ten minutes.

Owen O'Sullivan sent over a point from a free on sixteen minutes and Brian Dullea added another. Two points from Grange, coming up to half time, left it 0-6 to 0-3 at the break.

It was a dour low scoring half. Grange increased their lead early on. Owen O'Sullivan pointed from a free in the forty third minute.  Grange cancelled this out two minutes later to go four ahead but they did not score again.

A point by  Owen O'Sullivan, from a free, and another by Paraic White reduced the margin to two. Randals mounted a determined assault on the Grange goal in the closing minutes but though chances were created the equalising or winning scores did not come.

The full time score was  Grange  0-8  Randal Og  0-6.
